# BDC reporting

> Set up FCC Broadband Data Collection coverage, subscribers, and filings

**Company → GIS & Mapping → BDC Reporting** is ISP Triage's FCC Broadband Data Collection workspace. It is available only for companies located in the **United States**.

  If BDC does not appear in the menu, set **Company → Preferences → Country** to United States (or USA). ISP Triage also accepts a US state code when country is blank.

## What you will record

| Record               | Purpose                                                             |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Deployment sites** | Towers, buildings, and other build locations                        |
| **Service areas**    | Coverage polygons, technology, speed tier, households passed/served |
| **Subscribers**      | Locations in those areas, ACP and low-income flags                  |
| **Reports**          | Period snapshots and FCC/coverage CSV exports                       |

## Setup steps

  <Step title="Confirm the company is in the US">
    Open **Company → Preferences** and set country to United States. BDC tools stay hidden for Canadian and other non-US companies.

  <Step title="Add deployment sites">
    Under **BDC Reporting**, add each site with name, type, address, county, latitude/longitude, and status (planned, in progress, completed, or on hold). Optional census tract and block group improve later exports.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Define service areas">
    Create a service area for each coverage polygon: technology (fiber, fixed wireless, cable, DSL, satellite), speed tier (for example `100/20`), households passed and served, service available date, GeoJSON polygon, and FCC-qualified when it meets filing criteria. Link the area to a deployment site when it is served from one.

  <Step title="Add subscribers and geocode">
    Attach subscribers to a service area with address, coordinates, tier, and start date. Flag ACP and low-income qualification when they apply. Use **bulk import** from billing clients or the **geocode wizard** so addresses appear on the coverage map.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the coverage map">
    **BDC Map** shows geocoded billing clients against service areas and sites. Fix missing coordinates before you generate a filing.

  <Step title="Generate and file a report">
    Create a quarterly, annual, or ad hoc snapshot for a date range. Export **FCC**, **coverage**, **subscriber**, or **summary** CSVs, then mark the report submitted with destination (FCC or a state office) and date.

<Tip>
  Run the same report type on a consistent calendar (for example each quarter’s last day) so take rate and households passed stay comparable period to period.

## Live dashboard

The BDC dashboard shows current take rate, FCC-qualified areas, ACP / low-income counts, and technology and tier breakdowns. Generate a report to freeze those numbers for a filing period.
